Toshiba announced on Tuesday 19 February 2008 that the Company remains focused on championing consumer access to high definition content, though it has undertaken a thorough review of its overall strategy for HD DVD and has decided it will no longer develop, manufacture and market HD DVD players and recorders. This decision has been made following recent major changes in the market. Toshiba will continue, however, to provide full product support and after-sales service for all owners of Toshiba HD DVD products.

E-Vision provides Middle East with HDTV at CABSAT

Emirates Cable TV and Multimedia (E-Vision) announced on 9 March at CABSAT 2005 it had teamed up with Thomson, the leading global entertainment technology provider, to offer superior quality viewing through its cable system.
